Could you call six kids – a gaggle of kids? lol that’s what it felt like at my place this weekend and only three were mine!
I should have uploaded these on Friday when I took them, as the kids have monopolised the computer all weekend. Lesson learnt 🙂  Although Sunday is still technically the end of the week lol.

I found a pile of smaller pieces of three different shades of pink chiffon, in my rather messy boxes of fabric. So a new take on a layered skirt for Lily they became.
The lower layer is made up from eight panels cut wider at the bottom edge. The upper layer is only six panels in the same shape but wider in general than the lower panels. The shades of pink vary as they go around the skirt.
The panels are joined by french seams as I have practically run out of pink thread and I think it works for the light chiffon well. The lower edges of each layer are narrowly rolled over and stitched.

The waistband is a big piece of stretchy knit fabric folded over when worn. I should have taken a pic with it unfolded, if it were it would sit around 18cm at the top of the skirt.
The band was stretched to fit the top of the chiffon layers and overlocked on, no straight stitch because it would pop with the stretch.
There is also a layer of pale pink stretch fabric underneath. A lining for the chiffon, incase it was too see through. This is joined in the waistband seam as well and only overlocked at the hem as it’s not seen.
One happy Lily and some more smaller pieces of fabric used up 🙂
