A Garment A Week – Week 1 – 08/01/2016

A light polyester dress from a brought pattern. I did change the sleeves, the pattern had cuffs as well but it just looked too busy. 0.6cm tucks down the front and a ruffle collar.

No zip but a tie at the back to give the dress more shape. It does need a bit more firmness around the neckline. I think my fusing was too light, something to remember!
It’s not something I’d usually pick for myself but I really liked the look of the pattern and I need more experience sewing light, slippery fabrics. I have really enjoyed wearing it today. Definitely need to make more summer dresses in this fabric as it’s so nice and light for the muggy waikato heat.
